“A catalog of catchy, yet profound anthems that are sure to give the heart strings a nice tug.”

— DYING SCENE

“A prime cut of American rock and roll, in our estimation — calling to mind the maverick spirit of the legendary Tom Petty, layered with a simmering angst sure to appeal to fans of artists ranging from Social Distortion to The Gaslight Anthem.”

— UNDERGROUND MUSIC COLLECTIVE

“There’s a raw rock energy here that feels familiar and brand new all at once. I appreciate the blend of earlier alt rock with a hard driving modern rock edge.”

Let that North Star fade
If what you want is new horizons
You got to let a little light in

Borrowed Sparks understands that life can be tough. At the same time, he holds a weathered optimism that shines through in even the heaviest moments.

Borrowed Sparks’ debut album, The Prettiest One Left, was described by Underground Music Collective as a “prime cut of rock and roll,” and showcases Bay’s musical roots - artists ranging from Bruce Springsteen, to the Eagles, to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It highlights the folk, rock, and punk that shaped Bay’s musical tastes. The Prettiest One Left contains Borrowed Sparks’ breakout single, “Are You Listening,” a radio-ready rock track Gin Blossoms would have been proud to cut.

The album was so successful that Borrowed Sparks released a Deluxe edition of the record later that year, containing emotive, acoustic reimaginings of the original version’s tracks, followed by The Smoakstack Sessions EP, a live record tracked in Nashville, TN.

Following the success of their debut record, Borrowed Sparks returned to the studio to record their sophomore effort, Let a Little Light In. Dying Scene described this collection of songs as “catchy, yet profound anthems that are sure to give the heart strings a nice tug.”

These songs represented a progression for Borrowed Sparks - with more life lived, Bay brought his extensive songwriting experience to bear on the notions of hope, struggle, optimism, and grief.

Now, the next evolution of Borrowed Sparks approaches. The highly anticipated third record from this Americana folk-rock outfit is on the way - stay tuned for their most emotive and heart-wrenching record yet.
